Halloween 2010

There is nothing quite like a good old fashioned campfire on a beautiful fall evening and this past Sunday (Halloween!) was no exception. We have had the privilege of being in attendance at several great fire gatherings at the Kiener's rural residence (the Kienerosa!) over the past several years and this will line up alongside those of the past. We arrived late afternoon while the sun was lowering in the western sky, providing light for Jacques to finish a leg-o-lamb over the fire and for me to photograph a stupendous sky. Below are a few examples:

Jacques with a leg-o-lamb and chicken on the fire.
As the sun fell, the shadows got longer, enveloping their house and old barn in evening darkness.
Then we gathered 'round the fire for warmth and the camaraderie of friends.
A little liquid refreshment aided in warming us from the inside: hot chocolate & peppermint schnapps - yum!
Here's to the next fire gathering at the Kienerosa!!
